(Extract) The Standard aims to provide persons who carry out periodic verification, by inspection and/or testing, with the means to determine, as far as reasonably practicable*, whether the installation and all its constituent equipment is in a safe condition for continued use, and that the electrical installation complies with safety requirements for the prevention of fire and the protection of persons and livestock from electric shock.
