Ingress Protection (IP) Rating Failure

Appliances, appliance isolators, outlets and switches have a required ingress protection (IP) rating to ensure safety and correct operation. Damage present could cause safety issues and faults in operation due to failing the required IP rating. This could mean a weatherproof isolator no longer stops ingress of water, causing electrical faults, or a broken switch allowing the possibility of accessing live parts.
